Monochrome Monday: Cheers!

Capture 365 Project – December

Prepare

One of my favorite Christmas traditions while living here in Germany is visiting the Christmas Markets throughout the country. You haven’t truly experienced the market until you’ve had a steaming cup of the popular drink known as glühwein (or mulled wine). There are various recipes, but Glühwein is typically prepared from red wine, heated and spiced with cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anisee, citrus, sugar and at times vanilla pods. It is sometimes drunk Schuss (with a shot), which means that rum or some other liquor has been added.

Glühwein is bested served in cold weather and in the company of good friends.

Cheers (or Prost in German)!
