Weekly Photo Challenge: On The Move

Flower in Motion 1(2)

I took these photos a while back, but thought the photos would work perfect for this week’s challenge “On The Move”.

I used a fun technique called “Zoom Burst” to create motion in the photos.Β  Creating these types of photos is really simple. Other than having a DSLR, no fancy equipment was needed. Here’s how I did it.

Method #1

1) I set my camera to a slow shutter speed in “shutter priority”.

2) I found an interesting bed of flowers.

3) Just as I hit the shutter button, I quickly rotated the lens ring.

Method #2

1) I set my camera to a slow shutter speed in “shutter priority”.

2) I found a different bed of flowers.

3) This time, just I as I hit the shutter button, I quickly rotated the whole camera (not just the lens ring).

It took some experimenting, but it yielded some really fun and interesting pictures!
