A few weeks ago I visited the city of Atlanta. Much to my delight, Atlanta is beautiful and filled with rich history!
My first glimpse of Atlanta came from the comfort of an open air electric car on the ATL Cruzers tour. This tour provided a unique perspective about Atlanta’s history, culture and cuisine.
One of my favorite tour sites was Atlanta’s infamous Inman Park neighborhood. Established in 1890, Inman Park is known as Atlanta’s first suburb. The neighborhood was home to wealthy residents such as Asa Griggs Candler, the founder of Coca Cola. Inman Park is also home to many beautiful Victorian style properties, some still standing today. I had an opportunity to visit one Victorian home. Now a bed and breakfast, the home has retained is grandeur and charm.
Other favorite sites included the King Center (which paid homage to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) and Centennial Olympic Park.
Even with these amazing sights, the very best part of visiting Atlanta was experiencing the warmth and hospitality of its people!
